THE CHANCE ENCOUNTER STORY - CONTINUES

Our Chance Encounter story begins on a train travelling between Taunton and Barnstaple on the old Devon and Somerset Railway in the summer of 1957.

Our hero Clive Aloysius Barrington-Mills, member of the aristocratic Barrington-Mills family, found himself very reluctantly travelling on the train.  On the same journey our heroine Kathy, a local farmer’s daughter, also happened to be travelling on the train.  By chance, these two people found themselves in the same carriage and that is where our love story begins! During the conversation on the train between our two lead characters, it becomes clear that their taste in music is quite different.  Kathy likes rock ‘n’ roll music and indeed has named her kitten Teddy after the Elvis Presley song called Teddy Bear. Our story then moves on to 1963 – Clive and Kathy are now married, with a family and Kathy becomes aware of a rock ‘n’ roll concert being held at the Regal Theatre Minehead and as a surprise, buys two tickets.  The rock ‘n’ roll show reflects very much the music of the era and its musical content will reawaken many memories.  The Chance Encounter - The Journey Goes On project team hope very much that you will enjoy the day’s experience.
